Coronavirus numbers by county: May 19, 2020

The most updated coronavirus statistics in Oneida, Herkimer and Otsego counties.

County....the numbers are down in all three counties....but there is one number we are focusing on today especially in oneida county.

Good evening kristen.... first things first there are 13 potential public exposures...we have those posted on our website wktv.com.

Leaders across the region continue to stress the importance of keeping the metrics manageable.

It's the only way we can stop the spread and continue to move on to phases, 2, 3 and 4.

<change > today in oneida county...six new cases.

That's the lowest one day total since may 5th.

<change > 36 people are hospitalized, 30 in the county six outside the county... 411 people have recovered.

I want to spend a moment talking about hospitalizations...36 is the highest we have had since this began.

And while that is a little concerning...its the percentages that the county executive and the regional control room monitor closely.

As long as we have 30 percent bed capactity....and we are at 46%.

And....icu bed capacity must be 30%...we are at 56% in the county.... we are in good shape.

The concern though is the improving weather and the possibility of people not adhering to safety.

Bottom line is you should still not be congregating in large groups, the reason is, dont be the one who gets covid brings it home to your grandmother and kills her, its that simple, just dont do it, lets me smart, lets be smart the way we've been throughout this process.

In herkimer county, just one new case.....we are up to 110.

And in otsego county...there are no new cases for the 20th straight day, but i do have sad news to report...the one person that was hospitalized has died...our thoughts and prayers to the family.

57 have recovered.
