A refrigerant can in a minibus exploded when a woman walked past in southern China.

The video, shot in the city of Quanzhou in Fujian Province on May 16, shows an explosion suddenly breaking out from a minibus parked on the side of a road as a woman walked past.

According to a nearby resident named Xie, her mum was scared by the explosive noise when she was tidying up the apartment and then found a distorted can with "R134a refrigerant" written on it on their first-floor balcony.

The community residents committee reported the incident to the police and they contacted the car owner.

The car owner admitted that he had a refrigerant can in his car but did not know what's the cause of the explosion.

There was no other damage to the car except for the broken window.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
