We are taking you deeper into the impact of the coronavirus.

Tonight i am joined by dr. joe burke, the interim president of calhoun community college.

Dr. burke, has your administration -- admissions criteria changed at all because of the pandemic?

>> dr. burke: no, it hasn't really.

We've done some things to loosen up restrictions as far as transcripts and that sort of thing that help students to get enrolled more easily.

We have last friday we had a drive-through admissions.

It was national college decision day.

We saw about 180 students come through the drive-through on the huntsville campus and the decatur campus and so we're doing -- there's a lot of videos on our website that tell students what they need to do t simple steps to go through in the admissions and registration process.

So we've -- we've put more p of these things online and they can very simply get enrolled.

We're looking forward to the fall in that there are probably some students out there that are having second thoughts about going away to a large university somewhere and so we encourage them to think about staying home , taking some online classes at hall hewn.
