Cook and son lumber company in reelsville is just one of several businesses that's getting a financial boost during these hard times.

Now..

You'll remember..

The federal government approved the small business paycheck protection program last month.

The money given to small businesses will be used for things like payroll..

And utilities.

I spoke with craig cook.

He's the owner at cook and son lumber.

He says they've seen a drop in sales during this time.

While production is down..

Cook says it's a weight off of his shoulders knowing he and his employees will be okay during these uncertian times.

"it's nice to know that you know, the money is there to you know, what we maybe would normally need to have for other things we want to get done, we know payroll is covered.

We know health insurance is covered, so it's allowed us to possibly get by with you know, maybe a dip in sales a little bit."

Cook says they've already started to see the money from this loan come in.

He says he's grateful to be able to provide support for his employees during this hard time.

And speaking of employees..

Coming up at the top of the hour..

You'll hear from one that works here and what this means to her knowing she can still make ends meet.
