The new york state sportswriters association released its all- state large school teams for boys basketball today - with three local athletes on the list.

Damien call of rome free academy grabs the headline here as he was named to the class double-a 13th team.

Its his second year all-state after he was on the 16th team last year.

Call completed his senior season averaging just under 21 points per game and was named tri-valley league player of the year.

He leaves behind an accomplished high school career as the black knights all-time leading scorer with 1,117 points.

The 6'5" forward is staying local - committing to suit up for the pioneers at utica college next school year.

Though call was the only local making on of the teams - he was not the only local player receiving recognition.
