A fireman in eastern China hung upside-down to rescue a three-year-old boy trapped in a six-metre-deep well.

The video, shot in the city of Linyi in Shandong Province on April 18, shows firefighters tied breathing apparatus to a rope and sent it down into the well to ensure the boy had enough oxygen.

A fireman attached to the safety ropes was then lowered into the 0.4-metre-wide and six-metre-deep well.

After he grabbed the boy, other firefighters lifted them up together.

After the boy was rescued, he was sent to hospital.

He is not in life-threatening condition now.

The video was provided by the local fire brigade.
