It can be hard for some artists to thrive while venues and bars from parish-to-parish are shut down.so, one lafayette artist decided to take a brush and paint his own picture through a group for local artists practicing self-isolation and quarantine.

As acadiana adjusts to the new reality of life under self- quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic, a number of local artists are showcasing their works online to share some visual joy during these trying times.

"i's called the'artist quarantine' really just a place i threw together for local artist to go and share what the're working on; resources that they may know about."

With venues and bars on lock down across the parishes, bob borel, creator of the "artist quarantine" facebook group says there are plenty of things you can watch and or do from the safety of your couch.

"...which is pretty darn cool...."

Borel fell in love with art for as long as he can remember.... "ever since i introduced to photoshop i got pulled into it.... 've been doing a self- portrait every day for a year.

Started on my birthday which is april 14th.... i do on the street paintings called unflattering abstract portraits' people can sit down, and 'll do an unflattering abstract portrait of them for free" ...and now he wants to canvas that love with other louisiana artists who may need a stroke of bon temp."...you know, make people aware...."
