Tuesday marks the 7th night of Passover, a holiday celebrated by the Jewish religion.

In the Wabash Valley and all over the world it's being celebrated in a different way because of COVID-19.

Today marks the 7th night of "passover"..

It's a holiday celebrated by the jewish religion.

In the wabash valley... it's being honored in a different way.

News 10's jordan kudisch is live from our newsroom this morning.

She explains how covid-19 is shifting holiday celebrations.

Many families are celebrating their seder..

Through zoom..

Or other online platforms. this is the new way for families and friends to connect from miles apart.

Instead of flying home..

They can just log on.

The holiday is one of the most symbolic... that's because it highlights the "isrealites" journey and liberation from slavery.

In egypt.

That's why families turned to their laptops to celebrated.

You can see photos of those who celebrated around the world.

I spoke with "betsy frank" the president of "the united hebrew congregation" in terre haute.

She says even though it's not the traditional seder method..

It's brought together families during a tough time.

"i was very pleased with the turnout because it was a connection with people that wouldn't have been able to join us and it was a way for families to include their families from across the country."

Coming up..

Why betsy says even if the traditions changed..

It's important to remember this holiday.
