Indian soldiers coaxed a bear to run to its freedom at Pangolakha Sanctuary near the Bhutanese border on April 4.

The bear refused to come out of its cage in the freezing temperature.

A few soldiers climbed the cage and made noise prompting it to emerge out and ran down the mountain into its habitat.

The bear was spotted on the streets of Gangtok in Sikkim on April 1 where it attacked and injured a man.

Local forest officials tranquilised the bear in a 12-hour long operation and handed it over to Indian army for release into its natural habitat.
