In california - there are 335 cases... with 6 deaths.

Shasta county still has one confirmed case of the virus.

As of this morning..

Butte county public health says there have been no confirmed cases of the virus in butte county.

### there are a number of schools closing in the north state.

This just in this morning paradise unified will be closed.

The shasta union school district in redding has closed all high schools in redding and palo cedro.

Butte county schools already on spring break have extended the break by one week.

There is also an impact on local colleges.

Both shasta college and chico state are suspending face- to-face classes and are working to move classes to all*onlin* formats..

At this time the chico state campus will remain open and operational.

Butte college reps says classes will not yet be suspended... and the campus will remain open.

The centers for disease control and prevention is now recommending cancelling all events with 50 or more people for the next eight weeks.... c-d-c reps says rescheduling large events and limiting large crowds could help protect vulnerable people from getting the virus.

The c-d-c recomendations include festivals, parades, sporting events, concerts and weddings.

##### vice president mike pence and members of the coronavirus task force will hold a briefing this morning.

Mr. pence spoke sunday about the public-private partnerships allowing for more testing of covid-19.

He says there are more than 29- hundred cases of the virus in 49 states.

The vice president also re-iterated the risk for most americans remains low.

#### also this morning... president trump is set to take part in a video telecomference to tackle the coronavirus.

The president and g-7 leaders will discuss a coordinated action plan in response to covid-19.

All members of the g-7 have reported cases of the coronavirus.

#### the federal reserve cut interest rates to near zero sunday.

The announcement comes after what the fed says is "disrupted economic activity" in the u- s and around the world due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The new fund rate will now be targeted at zero to 0.25-percent.

This is the second emergency rate cut enacted by the central bank in the last two weeks.
