To watch the situations concerning the cancellation or suspension of play..

Friday the glvc's council of presidents voted unanimously to quote "suspend all activities related to intercollegia te athletics and cancel the remaining 2020 glvc championships due to concerns of the global coronavirus pandemic."

After the announcement was made, usi coaches shared their reactions.

On thursday, the ncaa announced that all winter and spring championships were cancelled..

And through all levels of collegiate athletics, there was a growing suspicion that regular season games would come next.

Then on friday, the glvc followed suit by suspending all activities related to inter collegiate athletics with set date of april 6th to review the league status.

We were kind of preparing ourselves for if we were going to suspend or have a little bit of a delay, i think that now, you look at like we would have been fine with that.

You know if that's what we needed to do, but then obviously everything hit and it's just devastating, and obviously everything has been changing within hours,so we're still feeling like we're walking on eggshells.

As you hear the news then you have to reevaluate what your situation is and reevaluate how your team is going to handle it.

Even before the announcemen t was made, usi coaches had been reminding their players of ways and habits to keep themselves safe from the spread of any potential disease or virus.

I talked to john mark and mandy fulton just about different precautions that the university has, and we had a list of things, washing hands, all the hygiene stuff, and making sure of where we are eating, not eating at buffets and different things like that, but we just took the precautions that we given to us and then we gave that information to our student athletes and to all of our administrators that traveled with us and made sure that was taken care of.

At the beginning of our season, we had heard a little bit about everything that was going on and i think it was more so educating our kids and telling them that this was happening.

Though disappointed with not having the opportunity to compete for the foreseeable future, there are still lessons that can be taken from this.

Probably, a lot of the sports families will become closer, i guess during all this time and i hope something good comes out of it truthfully.

One is we have to take every precaution necessary when somebody comes and tells us about taking stuff seriously with washing your hands and doing all of those things, but the other is that we talked about it today, you don't know when your last game is going to be, make every breath every step important, make sure that you understand that this could be the last one, and just kind of move forward, we've got to move forward.o
