With its competitive pricing and wide range of products, Prime Day has become a shopper's can't-miss-sale.
Introduced in 2015 in part to celebrate Amazon's 20th anniversary, the first Amazon Prime Day was one-day-only.
The idea of the retail holiday was to overtake Black Friday as the sales event of the year.
Business Insider reports that last year, Prime Day was a 48-hour event from July 15-16.
