Tom Watson: Jon Lansman has undermined myself and Jeremy Corbyn

Labour deputy leader Tom Watson arrives in Brighton for the party's Annual Conference, and addresses recent efforts by the party's National Executive Committee to abolish his position.

The civil war at the top of Labour has undermined efforts to present the party as an alternative government, deputy leader Tom Watson has said.

An attempt to oust him by scrapping his elected position was abandoned on the first day of Labour's conference.

After an intervention by party leader Jeremy Corbyn - with whom Mr Watson has repeatedly clashed - his post will instead be the subject of a review.
