SHOWS: AT SEA (JULY 20, 2019) (BEN BURVILLE - MUST ON SCREEN COURTESY BEN BURVILLE) 1.

GREY SEAL INTERACTING WITH CAMERAMAN BEN BURVILLE AND PUTTING ITS PAW ONTO BURVILLE'S HAND STORY: A grey seal put its paw onto the hand of an underwater cameraman in what looked like a handshake, near the Farne Islands, off the coast of Northumberland, England.

Ben Burville, who has been observing and recording the underwater behaviour of grey seals for almost 20 years, captured the moment on his camera.

He told Reuters the grey seal approached him and was interacting with him 'for a few minutes before swimming off into the current'.

"Watching the playful behaviour of seals, it is easy to liken them to underwater dogs.

However, it must be kept in mind that these are wild seals, not pets and quite far removed from dogs," Burville wrote next to the video, which he posted on social media.

He said he would not advocate divers touching marine life, especially seals, as they have "powerful jaws, full of sharp teeth and numerous bacteria".
