Philip Hammond Says He Will Resign If Boris Johnson Becomes Prime Minister

Philip Hammond said he would resign if Boris Johnson became prime minister.

Hammond said he couldn’t support a leader that would do a no-deal Brexit.

According to Reuters, his statement echoes others in parliament who feel the same way.

Justice minister David Gauke indicated he would follow Hammond and also step down.

Brexit policy chief Keir Starmer from the Labour Party said he respected Hammond’s decision.
