Hot Air Balloons Float Across London Skyline in Lord Mayor's Regatta
London resident Philip John Verney caught a mesmerising view of the annual Lord Mayor’s Balloon Regatta from Point Hill in Greenwich this week.
A total of 46 balloons took off from Battersea Park and flew over some of London’s most famous landmarks.
The event lasted for about an hour.
“The balloons took off shortly after 5 am, just after the sun had risen, then drifted along the centre of London to a landing point further east,” Verney told Storyful.
The annual event raises money for charity.
This year the proceeds went to the Samaritans, OnSide Youth Zones and Place2B.
