(SOUNDBITE) (English) MANCHESTER CITY MANAGER PEP GUARDIOLA SAYING: "We didn't lose what we achieved (away at Schalke) and that's why we didn't know exactly what we have to do after the first goal, an excellent pass from Bernardo, from Gundogan again.

So we scored the first goal, the second, in the mind of the players qualification is almost done and after we played in a good level." 2.

WHITE FLASH 3.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) MANCHESTER CITY MANAGER PEP GUARDIOLA, SPEAKING ABOUT LEROY SANE, SAYING: "I know it's not easy for Leroy, last games he didn't play too much, with the confidence to withdraw a bit, I understand, but after 20 minutes he was outstanding, the goal the (indistinct), the aggressiveness.

He's a player like we know exactly his incredible qualities that he has that is difficult to find around the world, that specific quality that he has." 4.

WHITE FLASH 5.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) MANCHESTER CITY MANAGER PEP GUARDIOLA, SPEAKING LIVERPOOL'S MATCH AGAINST BAYERN MUNICH, HIS FORMER CLUB, SAYING: "I'm sorry for the English people but I want Bayern through so I'm a big fan, I'm part of this club (Bayern), they gave me the opportunity to live an incredible three years in Germany and I love Munich, I love Beyern, I have a lot of friends there and I would like Bayern to go through but it will not be easy, Liverpool away with the three people in front (strikers), it's so demanding, so demanding game for both but I feel, I like Bayern Munich and hopefully they can go through." STORY: Rampant Manchester City demolished a woeful Schalke 7-0 to complete a 10-2 aggregate win and become the third English side into the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Tuesday (march 12).

City's record home win in Europe did not look likely after a quiet opening 35 minutes but once Sergio Aguero began the rout from the penalty spot it became embarrassingly easy as City reached the last eight for the third time in four years.

Aguero doubled City's lead three minutes later and the impressive Leroy Sane made it 3-0 before halftime.

Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva finished off flowing moves after the break and youngster Phil Foden bagged his first European goal before Gabriel Jesus made it seven.

City, who trailed 2-1 in the away leg before turning it around late on, join Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter-finals with Liverpool in action against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
