How to file your tax return for free online this year

The government may have pretty much shut down, but Americans still need to file their taxes on time.

According to Business Insider, the IRS has now opened up its free tax filing portal.

It lists tax preparation companies that won't charge if you earned less than $66,000 in 2018.

The IRS will begin accepting tax returns on January 28 and provide refunds to taxpayers.

You can file your taxes once you receive your W-2 form from your employer.
