'Greatest composer' Edward Elgar was a tourist in Cornwall over 100 years ago

Sir Edward Elgar, composer of Land of Hope and Glory, made some interesting observations including 'a funny, dirty little place with lovely views' and 'very monotonous, weird & desolate'.
