This long and narrow hall space is designed to give an advantage to anyone who gets high and has good cover. Unfortunately, the aliens were in the way, and I found no way of sneaking around them. We engaged from stealth, taking down two of them before they knew what was happening. A third got a solid shotgun blast to the body but lived for another turn because I failed to get the headshot. One of my fighters got up high but Rifter reinforcements quickly made an appearance. My fighter trio scrambled around and avoided damage, but the aliens had shields and energy weapons, which boosted their survival rate. One of them executed a kamikaze attack and took down my shotgun guy. Now I have to focus fire and create a strong position while preparing for another wave.
