Murder Investigation Launched in Leeds Following Death of Child

West Yorkshire Police has launched a murder investigation following the death of a child in Leeds.

It follows a report received at 11.06am yesterday (Wednesday, 31 July) of concern for the safety of a young child.

Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson, of West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: “Sadly when emergency services attended at an address on Austhorpe Court, Leeds, yesterday the body of a 3-year-old girl was found inside.
