Man Jailed for Kidnapping and Murdering his Uncle

A man from Bradford who fled the country after kidnapping, torturing, and murdering his uncle in 2019 has today been jailed for life for his crimes.  

Tahir Syed, 42 of St Johns View, Halifax went on the run after he murdered his Uncle Asghar Badshah, who was 39 years old and a bus driver in Bradford at the time.

Syed was arrested in Turkey in November 2021 and extradited back to the UK in April 2024.  

Mr Badshah was found dead at a disused bank on Commercial Street in Batley on Sunday 29 December 2019.
