Body Found In River Aire, Swillington

*Sunday 8 October 2023*

At 11.23 this morning officers were called to the River Aire at Swillington just off Wakefield Road to reports a body was in the water.  

An adult male was recovered from the water.  

Identification of the male is taking place, his death is currently being treated as unexplained.  

A scene is on whilst enquiries are ongoing. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police via 101 quoting log 688 of 8 October.
