Police investigating an assault which happened on Wednesday 16 September have arrested three men in connection with this incident.

It was reported that an altercation had taken place on Treganna Road between 11.30pm and midnight during which the victim sustained a stab wound to the arm. Emergency services located the victim on Chapel Street.

The victim, a 29-year-old man from Redruth, was taken to Treliske hospital with serious injuries, which are not being treated as life-threatening.

Three men, an 18-year-old man, a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, all from Birmingham, were arrested on Joannies Avenue late last night [Tuesday 29 September] and are currently in custody in relation to this matter.

Three other men, a 22-year-old man from St Ives, a 17-year-old boy from Birmingham, and a 19-year-old man from St Ives, were also arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.

DI Gail Windsor said: “We understand that recent events and the subsequent police activity will have caused some alarm to local residents. The neighbourhood policing team will be addressing these concerns with the local community as the investigation takes its course.

“We would like to thank the community for their patience and those who have come forward with information.”
