Appeal after attempted robbery, Illogan

Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery at a property in Illogan on Sunday [23 August].

A man entered an address in Church Road just before 7pm and demanded money before throwing liquid in the face of the homeowner and his friend. 

Thankfully the unknown substance did not cause any injury and the offender ran from the property empty-handed. 

The victims are being supported by specially-trained officers.

Police are investigating and seeking a suspect described as white, around 5ft 7ins tall, and of stocky build. He was dressed in black and wearing a Trilby-style hat.

Detective Sergeant Barry Ruskin said: “I would be keen to hear from anyone who has CCTV in the area, or any motorists who may have dash cam footage from Church Road at the time.”
