So we are led to believe, at any rate...

*Mumford & Sons* vocalist *Marcus Mumford* seems to be about to launch a solo career.

The songwriter has been teasing the news for some time, sharing in-the-studio clips on social media.

At first, fans thought it could be new material from Mumford & Sons, their first since the departure of banjo player Winston Marshall.

Now we're hearing that the music is actually intended for a Winston Marshall solo effort, his first outwith the confines of the band.

According to *Page Six*, Winston Marshall played a live set at a Spotify event on the French Riviera yesterday - June 20th - as part of Cannes Lions International Festival Of Creativity 2022.

There's no official word as yet. Check out one of Winston Marshall's previously shared clips below.
