'Demon'

*Herizen* is a true multi-hyphenate.

Born into a family soaked in music, she's found a way to balance songwriting, studio work, and her award-winning acting career.

Taking the lead in the groundbreaking Netflix series The Get Down, she also takes a starring role in USA Network's Dare Me.

Music remains close to her heart, though, a means for quiet expression, a vessel for feelings that might otherwise remain unexpressed.

Soulful pop with a crisp feel, new single 'Demon' - aptly titled for the Hallowe'en season - is the latest statement from this talented artist.

Out now, it's about the push and pull she experienced in a relationship, where love is matched to something darker.

A slow-burning slice of potent musicality, she says it "sums up a relationship that was very loving and also very destructive. It starts off with a little bit of anger and follows the emotional roller coaster of this romance."

The video was shot in Los Angeles, with director Mitchell deQuilettes (whose previous credits include Childish Gambino) following Herizen on an ominous walk around the city in the early hours of the morning.

A clip soaked in lingering emotion, you can check it out below.
