Researchers tout 'tap-and-go' whale-tagging drone as a gentler approach

Researchers from Project CETI (Cetacean Translation Initiative) have developed a "tap-and-go" method to tag whales using drones, according to a study published in PLOS One.

The approach, tested on sperm whales off Dominica, allows tag placement from a distance, offering a less invasive and faster alternative to traditional techniques, the team says.
