Iran has executed three men accused of spying for Israel’s Mossad, just one day after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Iran and Israel.
The executions are part of a sweeping crackdown in which over 300 alleged spies have been killed in just two months, according to Iran Human Rights.
Among the dead is political prisoner Mohammadamin Shayesteh, who was accused of insulting Islamic sanctities and collaborating with Israel.
Rights groups say he was tortured into a confession.
Iran also executed Majid Mosayebi for allegedly passing sensitive information to Mossad.
This chilling wave of executions follows Israel’s June 13 strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
