Aerial footage shows the Swiss village of Blatten, which was destroyed by a glacier that plunged down a mountainside.

The Birch Glacier collapsed on May 28 in Switzerland’s southern Wallis region, blocking the Lonza River and forming an artificial lake that engulfed the village.

Authorities say the water has started to drain.
