Russian President Vladimir Putin has once again accused Western nations of staging a “bloody coup” in Ukraine in 2014, blaming them for toppling the pro-Kremlin government of Viktor Yanukovich.
Referring to the ouster as an “anti-constitutional armed coup”, Putin claims the West provoked Russia into action and is now blaming Moscow for “defending the people.” In a strongly-worded address, Putin said the 2014 events led to an illegitimate Western-backed regime, hostile to Russian interests.
