Sumbawa Island is an island located in the province of West Nusa Tenggara , Indonesia .
The island is bounded by the Alas Strait to the west (separating it from Lombok Island ), the Sape Strait to the east (separating it from Komodo Island ), the Indian Ocean to the south, and the Flores Sea to the north.
Its largest city is Bima , which is in the eastern part of the island.
