A young mum has told of the terror of watching her two-month-old baby son’s “heart pumping in his chest” after his torso needed to be left open for three days following life-saving surgery.Alana Watling, 20, and her fiance Andrew Smith, 19, of Norwich, Norfolk, were devastated to discover at their 20-week scan that their baby had multiple heart defects, including a leaky valve, and would require surgery after his birth.
