Trying to drive a man to a psychiatric hospital today...when that man started beating him as they drove on the interstate...accord ing to lexington police.
Officers say the wayne county deputy called for help around 3:30 p-m from northbound i- 75 in fayette county.
He said the man he was taking to eastern state hospital had broken off a door panel and was assaulting him.
The deputy pulled over and lexington police took the man onto eastern state.
Police say he'll face more charges for beating the deputy...who ended up with minor injuries.
