A teenager, in the hosptial after he was hit by a police cruiser.

According to investigators.... it happned around 5:20 this afternoon at garden springs and lark spur.

Police say officers were responding to the garden springs area on a welfare check..

After a social worker called 9-1-1... saying a 19-year-old was having a mental crisis.

According to investigators..

The teenager..reported ly was making threats over the phone to harm the case worker.

Police say when officers arrived.... the teen also started making threats towards them, while holding a knife.

Acccording to investigators...a chase started, after the teen ran off.

Police say during the chase, the 19- year old..

Ran into the road, and was hit by an officer arriving on the scene.

The teen was taken to a hospitial with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say the teenager will be placed in emergency detention for his mental crisis.
