Good evening i'm monica harkins in tonight's top story....we're taking a moment to hear from 22-year-old emily evans' loved ones... the sheriff's office says the deadly crash happened sunday morning in the southbound lanes of i-75 and appears to be related to nearby construction.
According to investigators....a minor crash between evans and a truck in front of her caused her to be stuck in place on the interstate...momen ts later she was hit by a u-haul.... evans was taken to the hospital...where they say she died shortly after.
The other two drivers were not hurt.
As abc 36's kaitlyn shive shares what evans'..closest friends will never forget about her life.
### "she was just truly an amazing human and our community is hurting without her"" on friday march 19th...22 year old emily evans was killed in a tragic car crash on i-75.
Emily is described as a bright light by her best friend taylor crockett...a light that was taken too soon.
"its unreal because how can someone who brought so much to the world be gone" emily's sister tori rasp..says she had big goals and aspirations with a love of helping children and advocating for mental health.
"just putting her memory putting her memory at the forfront and remembering her laughs her smiles anytime you ask anybody thats what theyre probably going to say about her" she says there is no recovering from this loss...just taking it day by day.
"once i got the news that she hadnt made it it was more of me trying to figure out now how do i become strong enough for my parents, how i do i make sure im there for them while also making sure i take the time out to i guess help myself so that way i can help everyone else that was close to her because she touched a lot of lives" shes also remembered by her boyfriend of four years...austin rader....who rushed to her side c1 3 after the crash.
"i was close to the interstate and i actually arove on scene because i heard and i drove down as fast as i could and parked on the side and you know i got there and they said she had a pulse but they couldnt really do much for her" a love he wont forget.
