It took in more than 20 cats from one home this week.

It needs donations and ultimately people to adopt the cats.

Abc 36's danielle saitta introduces us to one of the animals at the now crowded shelter.

Nat meow danielle: "for anyone looking for the puuurrfect addition to their family..cats like bernard here are looking for a happy home" bernard is one of 25 cats given shelter by the woodford humane society after being rescued from a home.

The animal shelter says this was a special situation where there were too many cats in one house and the animals had to be taken away while there was no hesitation to rescue them all in at once..the humane society says it's more used to taking in one or two at a time..not 25.

The cats from this batch might be all different ages and different coat colors..but every one of them wants one thing...a family.

Beth: "most of them are pretty friendly some of them are still pretty fearful but we are hoping that with a little t-l-c we can get them to come around and we are confident that all these guys are going to be really happy house cats and the ones who aren't so social hopefully we can place them in an appropriate place as well" danielle: "if you'd like to help out the humane society in addition to adopting..the center is looking for supplies.
