Several villagers rescued three stranded finless porpoises in southern China.

The heroic video, filmed in the county of Lianjiang in Fujian Province on February 28, shows a villager named Lin Chengxin splashing water onto three stranded porpoises continuously.

The finless porpoises became trapped on the beach after the tide fell.

Lin and other villagers took care of them for around two hours by moving them to places with a higher water level and splashing water onto them until the tide rose and they could swim back into the sea.

According to the World Wildlife Fund, there were only 1,040 finless porpoises left in the Yangtze in 2014.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
