Bluegrass Distillery Sanitizer Fee Resolved 1/5/2021

Bluegrass Distillers founder Nathan Brown is glad the FDA rescinded the $14,000 drug maker's fee.

It "would have been far more than we had in our bank account by several multiples."

Powers.

Distillers across the country are thankful not to be slapped with a major bill after switching their business early on in the pandemic.

Distillers like bluegrass distillers in lexington..

Were encouraged to fill the demand for hand sanitizier while production was down.

Fast forward to the end of 20-20 when distillers were slapped with a 14- thousand drug maker's fee for the sanitizers... the f-d-a rescinded the fee...saying it was a mistake..

But bluegrass distillers' co-owner nathan brown says he's still on edge about it..

"nathan brown: for perspective we were doing a couple 100,000 dollars total a year, before sanitizer and the whole thing happened so for a 14,000 dollar bill out of no where...would have been far more than we had in our bank account by several multiples.."

The distillery is back to making bourbon again..but says it won't stop making sanitizing products just yet.
