Footage shows the Fistulina Hepatica oozing a red substance when squeezed giving the effect of blood from a raw chunk of steak.

The mushroom is described as "an unusual bracket fungus" that is commonly found in Britain but is also found in North America and the rest of Europe.

Fleetwood, Pennsylvania-based mycology expert and grower MycTyson told Newsflare: "This is a brief video demonstrating the wonder and beauty of Fistulina Hepatica, the 'beefsteak' mushroom.

"With a remarkably meat-like texture, it even appears to BLEED!" "I would say this is rare I have been into mycology for eight years and this was my first find!

"It's difficult to cultivate but we're going to try growing it anyway, I have placed it on a petri dish and it's growing well.

"The taste is a bit sour compared to traditional mushrooms, but it cuts like a potato or a beet!" MycTyson later said.
