October is "breast cancer awareness month".

But covid-19 is growing concerns around getting those important tests done.

News 10's richard solomon explains why early detection is so important.

Especially during the pandemic..

This year alone...the group predicts more than 280,000 women will be dignosed with breast cancer.

That's why dr. darren brucken says it's so important for you to get checked.

He says covid has put a delay on people getting those screenings.

1 out of 8 is the number of women who get breast cancer in their life.

Dr. brucken says early detection is one of the ways to get ahead of the cancer.

"we all have moms we all have sisters and girlfriends and wives and aunts and about 1 in 1000 cases are in men.

And we all have men in our family and with the incidence of breast cancer being so high we're all going to be touched by it" there are numerous places you can get checked at right here in terre haute.
