We begin our team coverage tonight... with emma jerome -- live at the university of oregon... where undergrad instruction starts tomorrow.

Matt renee changes have been made campus wide including here at the knight library which adjusted its hours to close at 9 pm and only allow students faculty and staff to use it.

Other changes include limited occupancy in places like the rec center requiring everyone wear a mask in any university owned building and of course having most all their classes online even still since june first the university has seen 123 cases.

64 in the last 10 days.

Only four being from students living on campus alex fletcher is in the law school here at uo and she says while online school is well intended it falls short in many ways.

Alex fletcher uo law students, "we're missing sort of social necessity of education which is talking to your peers who are next to you being able to go to your professor right when you need help rather than a zoom office hhours because there's too many people who are trying to do that but we cant get close to eachother.

We are missing that core aspect of education which is togetherness" she also takes issue with the price of tuition remaining full with what she called poor incentives like reopening the rec center.

The university keeps track of covid cases and updates them daily i did reach out to the university for comment on not only the protocol theyre using to protect students but their response to claims from students that they should not have to pay full priced tuition.

They have not commented yet.
