The hamilton county district attorney's office is asking for your help in solving a cold case from 10 years ago.

A news conference was held this morning..... and news 12 now's winston reed joins us live with more.

The hamilton county district attorneys office say they received a tip from a reliable source that a murder took place at a former bar on highway 58 called dagwood.

It's believed that a woman was placed in the trunk of a lincoln and dumped near the highway 58 area.

The suspect in question is a male.

It's understood that this incident happened around 2010 and investigators are looking for clues that could lead to solving the case.

The white female that was murdered ...and then transported in the area of highway 58 and hickory valley road and hickroy valley road..it's a broad area but we're going on the information we have.

Through our extensive research we don't have an unsolved murder of a female..nor do we have a missing persons report filed locally from that time period but that doesn't mean that other counties or other states could have a missing person that we locally don't know about."

Investigators don't have an id on the victim.

It's confirmed that the former owners of the dagwood bar have been contacted but that's all investigators would tell us at this time.

They are asking the public for any information to help solve this case.
