Kimt news 3 iowa agriculture secretary mike naig is advising farmers and suppliers to anticipate an increased demand this fall and winter.

Naig says the derecho that swept through the central and eastern portions of the state - flattening corn fields - is partially to blame.

He expects farmers to need more propane to dry their crops - which may have higher than iowa secretary of agriculture "handling that grain properly which includes drying it down properly is going to be very important to making sure that we have a marketable crop coming out of this growing season."
