The game here wrapped up within the past hour or so.

Tonight was the home opener for the scottsboro wildcats and they wanted to make sure everyone who came out was as safe as possible.

That started with the number of people here.

Principal rob paradise says they limited capacity to no more than 50 percent for social distancing.

They also had plenty of signs reminding people to mask and stay socially distant.

Several hand sanitizing stations were also placed around the field.

And to help with distancing -- they marked off the bleachers with black and gold tape.

Fans we spoke with say they are encouraged by the steps being taken.

I hope that we have a full season and i hope it goes as smooth as this first game.

Time will tell.

Principal paradise says he spoke with the team at madison academy and the scottsboro emergency management agency wednesday morning regarding moving the game to tonight.

He says everyone was on board with the decision.

I also spoke with the superintendent of scottsboro city schools.

He says so far in their first week of classes -- they haven't had anyone test positive for coronavirus.
