The Mississippi State Department of Health conducted drive-thru coronavirus testing for teachers and school staff Monday.

Here at the health department in houston testing is still going on for about another hour.

Is someone getting tested now?) i spoke with rodney johnson with the mississippi state department of health about why it is important for teachers to get tested.

"something we are going to provide to every community, is a way to give our teachers and administrators a way to get tested."

This testing location is free and no appointment is needed.

Workers get the teacher or staff's information when they pull up to the testing site.

"as a parent myself everyone knows the struggles you have of letting you kid go back to school" a person getting tested does not need to have symptoms or any known exposure to get tested.

"we don't want our teachers, the ones supporting our kids to get sick."

Testing will continue throughout the week.
