Has never been an easy job-- and that was a fact long before the coronavirus pandemic set in... tonight-- a group of local moms -- is finding new ways to cope with the ever- changing world.

44news reporter marisa patwa is in newburgh with the story.

"without my tribe of women - i don't know if i could have made it this summer with my sanity."

Local mothers -- leaning on each other through saint john the baptists mother2mother group -- as raising children during a pandemic becomes even harder "it's important to have that person to bounce ideas off of and say i'm going crazy -- what are you doing.

How are you making it work?"

But when the state started shutting down -- so did the group of over twenty five years.

"i think that's where you make the closest friends where you can have those dark, honest mom moments.

So it was a little bit hard at first.

I went through a kind of depression."

In order to get that support back this summer, the mom got creative, even hosting socially distanced meetings in spaced out cars.

"we'd use our cars to create a boundary for the kids.

And let them ride bikes and play t- ball and remote control cars.

It was just we had to be creative.

We still got together and we still plan to get together this year.

We're just going to have to do it a little differently."

And the moms are thrilled to be back with each other -- as they are able to relate on the difficulty of being quarantine supermoms. "it really takes the stress off if you can send a text or call somebody and say i just need to talk to somebody who is not my children or my husband or my pet all day.

It means a lot to have them out there knowing that were praying for each other and supporting each other -- even from afar."

While the group is catholic, mothers of any faith can join.

And while a $5 fee is required for each meeting, it can be waved.
