St john the evangelist nursery school in new hartford is offering a place to help kids with their virtual learning.
"we offer anything from 1-4 days from 8 am to 3 pm for the children that will be doing their virtual learning."
It is offered to kids in kindergarten through 5th grade for their at home learning days to help parents who need somewhere to bring their kids where they can also help with remote learning.
"it's kind of like a one room school house all over again because its k through 5th grade."
"we'll have a full-time teacher with a staff member to help here per 10 children and they can come any one of the 4 days or all the 4 days."
She says they decided to offer this to parents because of the high demand.
"there's a need, we all have children or grandchildren that have to be somewhere."
"within the first two days of people seeing in on facebook, the first 20 spots were filled so that's why we were able to get an additional 20 spots for them."
The nursery school is taking all the safety precautions to keep the kids safe.
Starting with daily temperatures are the door.
"we bought some of the dividers for the round tables that were in our others rooms, here as well those will go up, give them space so they know this is my homework space, this is what it is."
