C1 3 the wait is over.

Solid blue fan snow know which sec west teams the football cats will take this fall.

The football cats will now be taking a little trip to tuscaloosa.

That's right.

The cats will now travel to take on the alabama crimson tide.

Last time the cats and tide faced off was 2016 in tuscaloosa.

Bama won 34-6.

Coming to kroger field will be ole miss.

The rebels will be led by first year head coach lane kiffin.

Ole miss came to lexington back in 2017 and left with a close win over the cats 37 to 34.

So when will these games happen?

We don't know.

We actually don't know when any of the games will happen.

Dates for games have changed, and uk athletics says those dates will be determined in the next two weeks.

If everything goes as planned, the sec has also released more guidelines this season for fall sports.

Football, volleyball and soccer players who are in direct contact with the program will receive testing at least twice a week during competition.

During games, all coaches and non-competing personel, so basically everyone on the sidelines, will be asked to wear masks and social distance if possible.

Unfortunate news for the morehead state football program.

The pioneer football league which houses the eagles has decided to nto have conference competition this fall.

Members of the pfl are all over the country.

Just last season the eagles traveled to games in florida, iowa and california.

The challenges faced with team travel and also meeting state guidelines in terms of covid-19 reduction would just be too much.

Abc 36 sports chatted with head coach rob tenyer on the decision.

Rob tenyer morehead state head football coach "it's a different scenario for just about every group of guys.

Like you've got tour fifth year seniors that i've got two guys who are enrolled in grad school.

And so you this was their opportunity to play.

A couple guys already have job set up for january.

I've got fifth year grad transfer from rutgers who transferred here to play his last year.

And then you've got your freshmen.

Basically they get a free year, which is great.

It's kind a like a redshirt on steroids.

You get a free year.

A year in the weight room whatever the fall looks like as far as a window of practice or scrimmage or maybe even some game opportunities and then again in the spring and then hopefully we'll be able to gear up for the fall.

### speaker 1: shelly cook didn't think she wanted to be a teacher.

Shelly cook: i graduated from uk with an economics degree.

Couple of years later just realized how unhappy i was with my life.

And realizing that your work is your life.

And nothing was making me happy at work.

Speaker 1: but she knew the classroom is where she belonged.

Shelly cook: i'm so happy being back at work, even yesterday.

I feel better being back in the building, even the promise of talking to the kids and just this is where i'm meant to be.

So it's nice to find your calling.

Speaker 1: for the last six years, shelly has been a third grade teacher at cane ridge elementary, but this year she's moving to fourth grade.

Shelly cook: and it's actually perfect timing because, i have some of my kids from last year with me this year.

So i feel like i missed out on my time with them last year, a little bit.

I'm excited to have a handful of them back with me this year.

Speaker 1: like most teachers, she doesn't do it for the applause, but she says, it's nice to know she's appreciated.

Shelly cook: gosh, it makes me feel so good that someone noticed me.
