BILL SHANKS CONTINUES HIS CONVERSTAION WITH HAWKINSVILLE FOOTBALL COACH SHANE WILLIAMSON IN THE COACH'S CORNER.

And you have brought in an old friend of yours and someone that everybody in hawkinsville knows very well, cam black, who was the defensive coordinator, or i think if it's a coach i should say, and peach county.

And now back as your defensive coordinator, um, what is that going to mean to you coach?

And, and, and what do you think that, how that process is going with the kids to get to know coach black a little bit?

Well, first of all, we're excited about having coach black back, you know, uh, he played here at hawkinsville.

He was defensive coordinator.

He was also the head coach and to have him back, uh, he is like true red though.

He loves it.

And he was excited about getting the opportunity to come back.

So having him on board, also having him as a longtime friend, and we kinda understand each other a little bit, uh, being able to lean on him and have trust values with him means a lot to me as a head coach, but our kids are learning his style.

Uh, coach black is a hardcore defense coach, and he's going to have our guys puzzling through the football and playing with a lot of enthusiasm and defense.

So we're excited about that.

But terminology right now is what we're trying to get our kids to understand a different terminology.

And those are things that we're working through during the off season.

At this time, we talked about case on clark being so important for you on offense.

You're going to put him over there on the defense and secondary.

Could that be a strength for you?

That position there, you know, we feel like you can in single life football, we're going to have play a lot of kids, both wives, but at the same time, when you've got a special athletes, you know, you can't just sit there and say, well, i'm going to lose a football game.

Cause i'm not going to play him on the other side of football.

We're going to play him, uh, on both sides of the football.

We'll definitely have to rest him son.

But bottom line is we feel like wherever he's at, he's going to make us a better football team.

All right.

You're in a foray with dooly county, dublin johnson county, montgomery telfair charlynn wheeler wilcox, uh, that, that dublin's kinda there in neon lights.

They're there, they're coming into single light.

That's going to be a tough chore, but that's going to be a tough region.

Isn't coach.

It is.

We're excited about it.

It brings back some old region foes.

It used to be in this region.

So we're excited about that when i was a head coach at tunes and the swainsboro, you know, we played dublin, some of these other schools.

So i'm excited about it.

I really am.
